Our local green space is host to a couple of small dwellings this year. In partnership with award winning British architecture practice Innovation Imperative, Weproductise and Amorim Isolamentos produced two ‘Tetra sheds’ using cork as a modular building system which can create work, rest or play spaces like no other.

On entrance to the Farmiloe Building, a beautiful Victorian warehouse iconic to the area, the event sponsor Jaguar reveals a collection of RCA collaborative artworks created by students, including a dynamic bronze Jaguar sculpture filling the foyer.

Navigating the wrought iron stairs, industrial corridors and exploring the hidden niches of Farmiloe reveals exciting and imaginative pop up shops, displaying their creative wares from ceramics to printed artworks to eclectic home furnishings.

The larger, more open plan spaces provide a platform for designers and manufacturers, showcasing bright, modern and interesting furniture pieces, textured, oversized and clever lighting solutions and more intriguing, conceptual creations, for example, a meeting table with swings for chairs and a wheel barrow lounge chair.­­­­

An interesting evenings presentation and discussion focussing on how retailers need to re-evaluate how store performance and the success of building emotional engagement with customers is measured. Culminating in the question how do you measure smiles? :-D
